5 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda faces a Seattle Mariners lineup Thursday that is two-thirds left-handed. The right-handed Pineda has actually held left-handed hitters in check so far in 2019 as they are hitting .240/.260/.417 (right-handers: .299/.337/.552), and throughout his career has not seen much of a platoon split. Backed by perhaps the best offense in baseball and opposite struggling Mariners starter Yusei Kikuchi, Pineda may have the best shot at a win among the four starters in Thursday's two-game early DFS slate. The 5.34 ERA and 4.77 xFIP don't portend well for ratios, but the lefty-heavy Seattle lineup should not be too discouraging. Seattle also has the fourth-highest strikeout rate in baseball.--Nathaniel Green
