2 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Michael Pineda has been designated for assignment by the organization. This shouldn't come as a surprise as the Tigers want to look at younger players during the final month of the season. Pineda has been awful with a 5.79 ERA and 1.41 WHIP on the season. Despite that, Pineda has put together strong seasons throughout his career. There could be an organization willing to give the veteran right-hander another chance. Regardless, fantasy managers should continue to avoid him because a change of scenery isn't going to make him fantasy relevant.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
