Michael Pineda Struggles Against Blue Jays
6 years agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Michael Pineda got roughed up by the Toronto Blue Jays in his Thursday start. Pineda allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, striking out just one and allowing two homers. It goes down as Pineda's first disappointing start of the season after he pitched well to begin the season. Overall, the veteran right-hander has a 2-1 record, 5.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings of work. While the poor start is a step in the wrong direction, Pineda has shown enough in his first season back from Tommy John surgery to be in the starting lineup in fantasy whenever he takes the mound.
