3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda struggled in Wednesday's loss to the Chicago White Sox. Pineda made his first start since returning from the injured list but was quite ineffective, surrendering a career-high 12 hits and five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings. He didn't yield a walk and struck out four, though there weren't many positives to take from this performance. Pineda's season ERA has ballooned to 4.11- and there could be more regression towards his 4.92 xERA, especially if he continues to allow the highest barrel and hard-hit rates of his career. His outlook for wins could improve if he's moved to a contending team at the trade deadline, though his fantasy stock is trending downwards regardless at the moment.--Tim Capurso
