Michael Pineda's Visa Issues Settled
3 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Michael Pineda's visa has been approved, according to manager A.J. Hinch. It means that Pineda can finally join the team in camp, although spring training is set to wrap up next week. The 33-year-old will need to build himself up for the regular season and will miss at least a few starts while he catches up to the rest of the starters. With Pineda needing to get up to speed, expect Tyler Alexander to keep his rotation spot warm in the meantime. Pineda had a 3.62 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, a 19.2% strikeout rate and a 4.6% walk rate in 109 1/3 innings over 22 outings (21 starts) in his final season with the Minnesota Twins in 2021, and he's ranked as the No. 112 fantasy starter at RotoBaller.
