4 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle, hamstring) and quarterback Drew Brees (shoulder) were both limited during practice for the second consecutive day Thursday. Thomas and Brees suited up Sunday against Tampa Bay, and neither appeared to sustain any type of significant injury that would lead to them being held out for the upcoming matchup versus San Francisco. While both deal with injuries, their rapport has been out of sync from where it has been in years past when both were elite season-long options. At this stage, there's no reason to anticipate either being sidelined, but in the case that they are, expect either Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston to start at quarterback and Emmanuel Sanders, Tre'Quan Smith, Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris to benefit with increased targets from another Thomas absence. Thomas remains a high-end WR1, while Brees is more of a low-end QB1 with a lowered ceiling in what could wind up being his final season in the NFL.--Jesse Borek
