Michael Thomas Out For The Season
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) is out for the season. He had a "new issue" with his ankle and ultimately won't return in 2021. The Saints star receiver had surgery on his ankle during the offseason and was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start the year. "Since then, the team and I have worked diligently, day and night, to rehab and get me back on the field, said Thomas. Unfortunately, there has been another small setback which we will have to address. To my displeasure, I will not be able to make it in time for the season but will do everything in my power to get back to the player I have always been." Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can move on from Thomas, but he is an automatic stash in dynasty formats. Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith are the Saints' top two wide receivers on the depth chart and will continue to see an uptick in targets while Thomas is sidelined. The 28-year-old will focus on rehabbing his injured ankle and look to fully recover from his issue in time for the 2022 season.
