3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Michael Wacha allowed five earned runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out two across five innings during Sunday's 9-6 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He did not factor into the decision. The 30-year-old was hurt by the long ball and served up two homers to Cedric Mullins and Anthony Santander. He labored through five innings and was removed from the game after 97 pitches. It was the second time this season Wacha allowed 10 or more hits in a start. Wacha has struggled mightily since the All-Star break, owning a 7.04 ERA, 1.70 WHIP, and a 2.3 HR/9 over 23 innings (five starts). The former St. Louis Cardinal will look to turn things around in his next start on the road against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Despite the favorable matchup, Wacha isn't pitching well enough to be used as a streamer in most league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
