4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Michael Wacha allowed one run on four hits and one walk, while striking out five in five innings of work on Thursday. Continuing what has been a dominant spring, Wacha has now allowed just one run on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 in 12 innings of work this month. Despite posting a 6.62 ERA in 2020, Wacha still recorded a 23.7 percent strikeout rate — his highest mark since 2013 — and a career-best 4.5 percent walk rate, while his 4.61 xERA suggests a certain level of "unluckiness" that affected his numbers. Wacha is virtually undrafted in all formats right now with a 587 ADP, but with his strikeout numbers last year and his dominant spring performance, he could be one of the better late-round sleepers in AL-only or 12-team and deeper mixed leagues.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
