Michael Wacha Strikes Out Nine In No-Decision
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays pitcher Michael Wacha allowed four runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out nine across five innings during Friday's 7-5 loss to the Chicago White Sox. He didn't factor into the decision. The 30-year-old didn't walk anyone and limited the White Sox to four runs (two earned). He surrendered a two-run shot to White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada and exited the game after 100 pitches. The former St. Louis Cardinal bounced back on Friday after posting an ugly 11.57 ERA in his previous three starts. Overall, he owns a 5.88 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and 85 strikeouts over 90 1/3 innings in 2021. Wacha will look to build on Friday's performance in his next scheduled start on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats searching for wins can use him as a streamer as the Rays are 9-0 in their last nine games against Baltimore.
