4 years agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Michael Wacha earned the loss on Monday in an 11-2 defeat against the Red Sox. Wacha allowed five runs — four earned — on eight hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings. Obviously the runs and hits weren't good, but Wacha's six strikeouts continued the performance he put up this spring, in which he finished with 12 strikeouts in 15 innings of work. Wacha will have a tough time in his next outing against the Yankees, but for managers who are looking for strikeouts and willing to risk ERA, Wacha could be a decent option, especially after striking out seven in a three-inning appearance against New York in 2020.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
