7 years agoThe New York Mets are preparing to possibly trade pitcher Rafael Montero before the regular season starts, according to sources. He is out of minor league options and is not a lock to make the Opening Day roster, but the team currently isn't close to a deal. The 27-year-old hasn't helped his cause by posting an 8.31 ERA in camp. He also owns a 5.52 ERA in his time in the majors. Despite the upside with his pitching skills, Montero remains inconsistent and can't be trusted for fantasy purposes.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
