Miguel Sano Exits Early, Has Setback With Sore Knee
3 years agoMinnesota Twins first baseman Miguel Sano (knee) left Saturday's game in the seventh inning against the Tampa Bay Rays after suffering a setback with his sore knee. He went 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts before leaving. On Saturday, the 29-year-old was back in the lineup after missing three games with knee soreness, but he was pulled early after Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said the pain returned. He remains day-to-day and might require a trip to the injured list to recover from his knee issue fully. Sano has been disappointing this season, slashing .093/.231/.148 with one homer and three RBI over 65 plate appearances in 2022. Luis Arraez would see an uptick in at-bats and handle first-base duties while Sano is sidelined. Arraez is a speculative add in most league formats after slashing .317/.386/.397 over 20 games in 2022.
