Miguel Sano Homers Twice in Slugfest Against Yankees
5 years agoMinnesota third baseman Miguel Sano did his part at the plate Tuesday night, in the Twins 14-12 loss to the Yankees, blasting two home runs and driving in five. Sano's boomstick struck for the first time in the bottom of the fourth, when he crushed a chest-high hanging curve 414 feet, with two men on base. He brought the big stick out again in the eighth inning, putting the Twins up 12-11, by launching a Zack Britton sinker - that did not sink - 457 feet to center field. The Twins would eventually lose in extra innings but Sano continues to rake under the radar, after missing the first month of the season due to injury. In only 50 games this year, the former top prospect has 14 HR, with 27 RBI, and 33 runs scored and continues to put the disaster of 2018 further in the rear-view mirror.
