3 years agoDenver Broncos running back Mike Boone is expected to be the team's No. 2 running back in Week 13 against the Kansas City Chiefs with Melvin Gordon (hip, shoulder) doubtful to play on Sunday night. But with the impressive rookie Javonte Williams expected to handle the bulk of the backfield work this weekend, there probably won't be enough meaningful touches left for Boone, who has just one catch for three yards in four games played due to injuries in his first season in Denver. The 26-year-old has yet to see a carry in 2021 after coming off Injured Reserve in Week 6. In his three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Boone averaged 5.3 yards per carry on 71 rushing attempts for 379 yards and four touchdowns while adding seven catches for 28 yards on nine targets.
