Mike Clevinger Serves Up Five Runs In Defeat
2 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Mike Clevinger took the loss on Saturday night as his club fell 8-3 at the hands of the Dodgers. The 31-year-old allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking one through 4 2/3 IP. Clevinger was bit by the long ball by giving up a solo homer to Will Smith in the second, and then a three-run shot to Max Muncy to chase him from the game in the fifth. He still owns a respectable 3.60 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 62 K through 65 IP this season as he sets his sights on a much easier task versus the Nationals next weekend.
