Mike Clevinger Sharp In Rehab Outing
3 years agoSan Diego Padres pitcher Mike Clevinger (knee) allowed one hit while striking out five across two scoreless innings in a rehab start with Low-A Lake Elsinore on Thursday. The 31-year-old had no setbacks and was impressive in his rehab outing, landing 24-of-31 pitches for strikes and fanning five of six batters he faced. He began the season on the injured list with soreness in his right knee, but it isn't considered a significant injury. Clevinger is expected to make at least one rehab outing before returning to the Padres. San Diego will play it safe with their ace, and barring any setbacks, can expect Clevinger to return in early May.
