Mike Clevinger, Zach Plesac Reinstated, Sent To Training Site
4 years agoCleveland Indians right-handed pitchers Mike Clevinger and Zach Plesac have been reinstated off of the team’s restricted list following their team-mandated suspension which stemmed from breaking protocol and going out during a road trip. But Clevinger and Plesac won’t be rejoining the Cleveland rotation just yet, as they were both optioned to the club’s alternate training site. Plesac was off to a terrific start in 2020, compiling a 1.29 ERA across his first three starts, while Clevinger has scuffled with walks (10) and home runs (four) in his 16 2/3 innings. Cleveland did not announce when either pitcher would be eligible to rejoin the big league club, leaving owners held in abeyance for the time being. Adam Plutko figures to hold down one of the two vacant rotation spots in their absence.
