4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Mike Fiers allowed two runs in six innings while taking a no-decision vs the Mariners on Saturday. Fiers allowed four hits and a walk while striking out three in a nice bounce-back performance after getting hit hard by the Angels in his first start. It was a good performance vs a weak lineup, but fantasy owners shouldn't rush to pick up the veteran right-hander. Fiers had a minuscule 16.7 percent strikeout rate last season and simply doesn't miss enough bats to be a consistent source of fantasy production without racking up more strikeouts. He'll be a low-upside streaming option in deeper leagues in his next start Wednesday vs Texas.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
