4 years agoTexas Rangers starter Mike Foltynewicz allowed six runs (three earned) on nine hits and two walks sprinkled over two innings of work against the Reds on Thursday. Looking to secure a role on the Rangers after a rough 2020 season, he allowed two home runs which have been a reoccurring issue for him over the past few years. Foltynewicz made just one start with the Atlanta Braves last season and allowed three home runs in 3.1 innings. In 2019, he saw 23 balls clear the fence against him in 117 innings. In his only other outing this spring, Foltynewicz threw two shutout innings. With an uncertain starting staff, he still has a solid shot at securing an opening day role with the club.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
