Mike Ford Stays Cold With Hitless Performance On Wednesday
4 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman and designated hitter Mike Ford continued his poor start to the season with an 0-for-3 performance across both games of Wednesday’s doubleheader, bringing his OPS down to .578. Even with the rash of injuries suffered by Yankees players so far this season, it’s hard to see Ford maintaining consistent playing time if he continues to struggle, as the Yankees could use a primary outfield of Mike Tauchman, Aaron Hicks and Clint Frazier with Luke Voit at first base and Miguel Andujar at DH. The picture gets even more bleak for Ford when considering that outfielders Aaron Judge (calf) and Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) are both expected to rejoin the team at some point this season.
