Mike Gesicki Still Looking For Traction in Sophomore Season
5 years agoThings haven’t been rosy for Miami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki this season, as the 2018 second-round pick has struggled right along with the rest of his winless team. Gesicki only has 22 receptions and 202 yards this year but is coming off of his best two performances, totaling 92 yards on seven receptions in Miami’s recent losses to Washington and Buffalo. That may not be enough to write home about but Gesicki could find success on Monday night against a Pittsburgh Steelers Defense that’s allowing the fourth-most points this season to opposing tight ends, at 9.7 points-per-game. That’s still not a good enough reason to start Gesicki anywhere but in the deepest leagues, even in a year where the tight end position has been a fantasy graveyard. Gesicki's role in the offense could increase if Miami trades any more talent prior to the Oct. 29 deadline, but until then leave him on the waiver wire where he belongs.
