Mike Gesicki To Play Less As Receiver
2 years agoMiami Dolphins tight end Mike Gesicki has been less of a focal point on offense during training camp. The 26-year-old is being used more as a blocker than a pass-catcher right now. This is different for Gesicki who has been a receiving tight end over the last three or four seasons. Now, Durham Smythe is getting more reps as a receiver, while Gesicki focuses on blocking. Gesicki mentioned that the change is similar to learning an entire new scheme. It's also worth noting that the Dolphins added Tyreek Hill, which should take away some action from Gesicki. At this point, Gesicki should be considered a low-end TE1 heading into the season.
