7 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Mike Leake will try and snap a string of mediocre starts when he takes the ball Thursday against the Blue Jays. Leake posted three quality starts to begin the year but has fallen off on his production since then. After tossing six innings of three-run baseball on April 13th, Leake has allowed 31 hits over his last 20 2/3 innings. His WHIP has risen to 1.60 and his 6.28 ERA is the worst in the Mariners starting rotation. Leake was acquired last season to eat innings and provide a solid, veteran presence to the middle of their rotation. That hasn't happened yet but Leake's talent is superior to the numbers he has produced thus far.--Joey C - RotoBaller
