6 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Mike Leake allowed five earned runs, three hits and three walks with four walks and two homers allowed over 6 2/3 innings in a loss against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday. He threw 70 of his 106 pitches for strikes, including 17 first-pitch strikes to the 26 batters he faced while falling to 3-6. His ERA also rose from 4.93 from 4.000 over his past two outings, allowing 12 earned runs and 14 hits in just 11 2/3 innings. He'll try to right the ship Friday night against the Los Angeles Angels. Leake has just one win in six decisions across his past eight outings dating back to April 6.--Daniel Dobish
