2 years agoLos Angeles Angels right-hander Mike Mayers will get the start on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. It will be Mayers' first start of the season for the Angels after 18 relief appearances in which he's posted a 5.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 27 strikeouts and nine walks in 29 1/3 innings pitched. He's thrown 9 1/3 innings in his last two outings in long relief, so he's stretched out enough to make a spot start this week. Mayers surrendered seven earned runs on 10 hits (four home runs) while walking one and striking out nine in those last two outings, so fantasy managers should be looking elsewhere on Wednesday.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
