Mike Minor Expected To Make Rehab Start Tuesday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Mike Minor (shoulder) is expected to make a minor league rehab start next Tuesday, according to manager David Bell. Minor started a rehab assignment in mid-April, but he suffered a setback with renewed left shoulder soreness during a rehab outing with Double-Chattanooga. The 34-year-old threw a simulated game at High-A Dayton earlier this week and is now ready to restart his rehab assignment. The veteran southpaw is likely to need multiple rehab starts before joining the Reds, but barring any more setbacks, he could make his season debut later this month. Minor posted a 5.05 ERA, a 1.24 WHIP, a 22.3% strikeout rate and a 6.1% walk rate in 28 starts over 158 2/3 innings for the Kansas City Royals last year.
