Mike Minor Sees Dip In Velocity During Loss
4 years agoIn a 6-4 loss to the San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers starting pitcher Mike Minor had a less than ideal performance. In 3 2/3 innings of work, Minor gave up nine hits, six earned runs, one walk, and struck out six batters on 86 pitches. Today was another disappointing outing for the 2019 breakout as he's now 0-4 on the season with a 6.94 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Minor noted that his changeup wasn't working on Tuesday night, but, in the fourth inning, his fastball velocity dropped to 88 mph. Minor owns a 37.9 percent hard-hit rate this season and will need to turn it around if he is going to salvage any value for his fantasy managers in 2020. His next start will come against the Seattle Mariners and offers a sweet bounce-back spot for the southpaw to steady his season.
