Mike Minor Shelled For Career-High Nine Runs
3 years agoKansas City Royals starting pitcher Mike Minor was blasted Friday for a career-high nine runs as the Royals lost at Texas by a score of 9-4. The 33-year-old left-hander gave up 11 hits and struck out two over five innings. The shelling left him at 6-5 on the year with a 5.12 ERA. Minor, who is still worth rostering in deep and AL-only leagues because of his 24.5% strikeout rate and 7% walk rate, gets a chance to rebound next Wednesday at Boston. He's had a rough month of June (6.03 ERA, .291 opponent's batting average), so we'd recommend passing on him as a streamer against the second-place Red Sox next week.
