4 years agoTexas Rangers left-handed pitcher Mike Minor has gotten off to a shaky start in 2020, which will force the club to cap his pitch count around 75 when he takes the mound Tuesday against Seattle. Pitching coach Julio Rangel cited the layoff as a reason that Minor is behind his expectations to open the year and mentioned that the limit on his pitches may last for more than just Tuesday’s appearance. While Minor’s fastball spin ranks in the 91st percentile, he is getting batters to swing and miss at the pitch just 9.3% of the time. Having excelled in a relief role in the past, it’s always a possibility that if Minor cannot figure out his ailments while in the rotation, he could slide down to a key bullpen slot. DFS owners are best looking elsewhere Tuesday, while season-long owners can begin to think about shortening their leash.--Jesse Borek
