4 years agoThe Oakland A's have acquired starting pitcher Mike Minor from the Texas Rangers for two players to be named later. Minor, a free agent after this season, has posted an unimpressive 5.60 ERA and 1.36 WHIP, while striking out 35 batters in 35 1/3 innings pitched in 2020. He is coming off a 2019 campaign in which he struck out 200 batters in 208 1/3 innings pitched. Despite the disappointing start to the brief 2020 season, Minor's strikeout rate still remains intact and he currently has an xFIP of 4.59 which signifies a possible positive regression forthcoming. The move to Oakland and change of scenery could help Minor, though his fantasy value likely remains the same since he remains in a starting rotation, remains in the AL West, and will still call a pitcher's park his home.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
