Mike Minor Twirls Gem Versus Mariners

4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Mike Minor threw a seven-inning complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts in a win versus the Mariners on Monday. It was a nice bounce-back start for the trade-deadline acquisition after he didn't escape the fourth inning in his first start in green and gold. Minor has struggled mightily this season, as this start lowers his ERA to 5.40 with unflattering peripherals such as his 4.85 FIP. Despite the struggles for the lefty, Minor has a strong track record of pitching deep into games and he has some strikeout upside with a 23.8 percent K rate.
