Mike Moustakas Homers, Walks Twice On Wednesday
3 years agoCincinnati Reds infielder Mike Moustakas went 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs, one RBI, and two walks in a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday. Moustakas drew first blood with his solo shot in the second inning, taking Pirates starter Trevor Cahill deep. It was a welcome sight for Moustakas, who hadn't homered since May 2 and only has four long balls on the year. Moustakas will take a .235 average, 15 runs, and 12 RBI into Thursday's matchup against Colorado Rockies starter Chi Chi Gonzalez on Thursday. Hopefully the weekend series at Coors Field will jump-start his bat. On another positive note, Moustakas has been playing first base since Joey Votto fractured his thumb, so he could be close to gaining eligibility there in fantasy leagues.
