Mike Soroka Tosses Four Scoreless Innings In Rehab Start
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka (Achilles) threw four scoreless innings for Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday night in his minor league rehab start, allowing just one hit while striking out five and walking none. Soroka is trying to return to the Braves starting rotation after tearing his right Achilles twice. The 25-year-old is a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues when healthy, but the problem is there isn't much time left in the regular season for him to make an impact for fantasy managers in 2022. Soroka hasn't pitched in a big-league game since the shortened 2020 campaign, but he was an All-Star in 2019 when he had a 2.68 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 142 strikeouts and 41 walks in 174 2/3 innings over 29 starts. There's a chance the Braves use him in relief initially when he's ready to return to the major league roster.
