4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman will continue work at first base as he seeks to add versatility to his game. Tauchman played some first base in college so he has familiarity with the position, and it's no surprise to see Tauchman work to elevate his value given the crowded state of the Yankees roster. Although Tauchman's work at first base may not have immediate ramifications, the Yankees' potential willingness to use Tauchman at first could signal that outfielder/first baseman Jay Bruce has at best a very limited shot at remaining on the team's roster once first baseman Luke Voit (knee) returns in mid-May.--Sam Chinitz
