2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout's (back, ribs) return from the injured list appears imminent, and interim manager Phil Nevin wouldn't rule out a return as early as Wednesday. However, it appears more likely that Trout would return against the Detroit Tigers on Friday. He started doing rotational exercises on Aug. 3 and swinging off a tee on Aug. 8. Trout then progressed to soft toss on Aug. 13 and has been throwing and running without issues. The 31-year-old said he felt great after facing live pitching on Monday, so he appears ready to return to the team without going on a minor league rehab assignment. It's great news, as there was a bit of concern that Trout might not even make it back to play in 2022 for a while.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
