Mike Trout Out Of Lineup Wednesday
2 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout (groin) is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox. Trout is considered day-to-day after being taken out early on Tuesday with left groin tightness, but he's not too concerned about the injury and is expected to avoid the injured list. The 30-year-old had two hits before departing, including a two-run homer, so hopefully he's emerged from a recent slump. He remains a must-start when he's playing, as he's slashing .284/.388/.601 with a .989 OPS, 14 home runs, 30 RBI and 39 runs scored on the year. Juan Lagares is in center field and is batting fifth against Red Sox right-hander Nathan Eovaldi on Wednesday. The defense-first outfielder is light on power and is still hasn't homered in 10 games this season.
