Mike Trout, Taylor Ward Out Against Rays
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielders Mike Trout and Taylor Ward (hamstring) are not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Trout is just receiving a normal day of rest, while Ward will sit out his third straight game due to a sore hamstring. With an off day coming for the Halos on Thursday, there's a chance Ward is back in the lineup on Friday for the series opener against the Oakland Athletics. Aaron Whitefield is in center field and is hitting sixth, while Jack Mayfield draws another start in right field while batting seventh against Rays left-hander Shane McClanahan on Wednesday. Both Trout and Ward are must-start fantasy commodities when they are starting. Trout currently leads the league in runs scored (25), walks (19), slugging percentage (.726), OPS (1.183), OPS+ (248) and total bases (69).
