Mike Yastrzemski Avoids Arbitration
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants avoided salary arbitration with outfielder Mike Yastrzemski on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.7 million deal. Yastrzemski will come at a discount in the late round of fantasy drafts after he hit just .224/.311/.457 with a .768 OPS, although he did have a career-high 25 home runs, 71 RBI and 75 runs scored in 532 plate appearances over 139 games in his third MLB season. A high BABIP in his first two major league seasons foreshadowed a drop in batting average to come, but he still has the potential to hit 20 to 25 home runs again with an average around .240. At his current ADP, Yastrzemski could be a real nice target as a late-round value selection.
