Mike Yastrzemski Hits Go-Ahead Grand Slam Tuesday
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski played the hero in Tuesday's epic 9-8 win over the Diamondbacks, going 2-for-5 with a single, a grand slam, and a strikeout. Down 8-5 in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and two outs, Yaz turned on an inside pitch, launching it into McCovey Cove to give the Giants the lead. Yastrzemski still has a low batting average on the season, but is hitting better since his return from the injured list, slashing .294/.333/.647 since June 12. Hopefully, he can continue to pick things up and get back to the high level he has performed at for the past several seasons.
