Mike Zunino Exits Early With Biceps Strain
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays catcher Mike Zunino (biceps) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners with a strained left biceps. He went 0-for-1 with a strikeout before leaving. The severity of Zunino's bicep injury is unknown, and he's considered day-to-day. Zunino has struggled to make contact this season, slashing .083/.128/.111 across 12 games in 2022. The Rays are suddenly thin at catcher with Francisco Mejia on the COVID-19 list and Zunino potentially missing time. Rene Pinto is the only other backstop currently on Tampa Bay's roster.
