6 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Mike Zunino is out of the lineup heading into Thursday night's game against the Angels. Zunino is working with coaches behind the scenes to get his swing back in shape and currently has only three hits over his last 40 at-bats. Zunino came off the bench on Wednesday, drawing a walk and delivering a hit in the latter stages of the game. But it has been a frustrating season for Zunino and his fantasy owners to this point. On the positive side, he is second among catchers in home runs (12) and has done an excellent job managing an improved Mariners pitching staff. But the downside has been glaring, including a .189 batting average and 85 strikeouts through 201 at-bats this season. The hope is Zunino this season can recapture some of the production he displayed during one 24-game stretch last season when he hit .304 with 10 home runs and 31 RBI.--Joey C - RotoBaller
