Miles Mikolas Placed On 10-Day IL Sunday
4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (forearm) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday due to right forearm tightness, the team announced through Twitter. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals recalled relief pitcher Junior Fernandez from Triple-A Memphis. This is tough news to hear for Mikolas, who had just made his first appearance on the mound since 2019 when he got the start against the Cubs last night. Mikolas had allowed one run over four innings while striking out three before he was removed due to tightness in his forearm. If managers have an open IL slot then it couldn't hurt to continue to hang on to Mikolas, but it's hard to imagine that he will have much value in fantasy going forward given his age and injury history.
