Minnesota Places Kyle Rudolph On Injured Reserve To End Year
4 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph (foot) has been placed on Injured Reserve and will therefore miss the team's Week 17 contest versus the Lions. Rudolph had not suited up since Week 13 due to a foot injury, allowing Irv Smith Jr. to become the team's focal point at tight end. After a decade with the Minnesota organization, Rudolph set a career-low with one touchdown reception this year and has seen his role in the offense dip considerably. With a significant salary cap hit attached to his name for 2021, it's possible that the two-time former Pro Bowl TE has played his last game with Minnesota. Smith will carry some DFS intrigue as a touchdown-dependent fantasy commodity on Sunday, while Rudolph's next chance to return to action comes next season.
