3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (groin) was activated off the injured list Monday ahead of the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox. Manager Rocco Baldelli indicated that this move would be in the works, though it is nice to get the official word. The slugging backstop has been sidelined since June 1 with a groin injury, though his bat will be a welcome presence in the Twins lineup once again, given his eight homers, .500 slugging percentage, and superb 15.5 percent barrel rate. The Twins optioned catcher Benjamin Rortvedt back to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move. Garver and Ryan Jeffers will likely split the catching duties in the second half, with Garver being the better fantasy play.--Tim Capurso
