Mitch Garver, Byron Buxton Land On Injured List

4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver and outfielder Byron Buxton have both been placed on the 10-day injured list prior to Thursday’s contest against Milwaukee. Garver is dealing with an intercostal strain on his right side, while Buxton has inflammation in his left shoulder. Taking Garver’s spot on the roster and in the lineup is Ryan Jeffers, the club’s No. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline. He will make his Major League debut Thursday against Brewers right-hander Brandon Woodruff and could be a solid short-term season-long asset with Garver sidelined. Jake Cave will slot into center field to cover for Buxton, which is a likely scenario so long as Buxton is out of the equation.--Jesse Borek
