4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver is likely to need more than the minimum 10 days on the injured list due to a right intercostal strain. The fact that Garver has not yet even gotten back to baseball activities indicates that the tandem of Ryan Jeffers and Alex Avila will have an extended look at holding down catching duties. Garver entered 2020 with considerable pomp following having won the Silver Slugger in the AL last year, although his .212 SLG through his first 17 games indicates that his power may have been zapped. Owners banking on his return may want to begin exploring contingency plans.--Jesse Borek
