4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver went 1-for-4 with a home run and a trio of strikeouts in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Garver crushed a 1-1 fastball from Hunter Strickland into the left-field seats at an exit velocity of 105.7 MPH with a .930 expected batting average. The veteran backstop now has a pair of extra-base hits in his last three games, though the strikeouts continue to be a problem. Garver's 36.4 percent strikeout rate, while an improvement from last year's mark of 45.7, is still a far cry from his career average of 26.7. The whiffs certainly hurt, though fantasy managers can stomach them a bit easier if Garver keeps hitting balls out of the ballpark.--Tim Capurso
