Mitch Garver Sustains Setback In Rehab Effort

4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver (intercostal) has been working his way back to the active roster at the club’s alternate site, but he sustained a setback Tuesday when he took a foul tip off of his protective cup. The move is expected to delay Garver’s return further, not leaving much time prior to the conclusion of the regular season for him to improve upon the .474 OPS that he compiled through his first 17 games. For now, the club has turned catcher duties over to the duo of Ryan Jeffers and Alex Avila, although neither holds much season-long fantasy intrigue. Check back for an update on Garver, whose power (31 homers in 2019) makes him an appealing DFS option once the playoffs begin.--Jesse Borek
