6 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger hit his 14th home run of the year in Wednesday's game versus the Texas Rangers. It was a three-run shot off of Drew Smyly that was the go-ahead blast at the time, but the Mariners ultimately lost in the late innings. Haniger went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts in this one dropping his average down to a paltry .228. He has impressed with the power numbers and sits second in the AL in runs scored with 42, but his swings-and-misses are concerning for him to return a decent average. The Mariners continue a home stand with a four-game set this weekend versus the Angels underwhelming pitching staff, so look for Haniger to hopefully start righting the ship in this series.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
